From Warsaw to Toulouse: Strengthening Armenia–Europe Aerospace Cooperation — A Recap

On October 5–9, 2026, EU4Innovation East organized an aerospace study visit to Poland and France, bringing together representatives of Armenia’s research, industry, and innovation ecosystem. Haykanush Darbinyan (Anush Darbinyan), researcher and technical manager at CSIE, joined the Armenian delegation alongside representatives of Bazoomq, the Armenian Innovation Foundation (AIF), the Science and Technology Development Council, AUA, EIF, CSIE, Geocosmos, Gituzh, and Geovibe. The delegation was accompanied by EU4Innovation East Project Director Julien Schmitt and Armenia Country Coordinator Nejdeh Hovanessian.

The visit aimed to facilitate technical exchanges, strengthen institutional partnerships, and explore opportunities for cooperation between Armenia and Europe’s aerospace and space innovation ecosystems.

In Warsaw, the programme was hosted and coordinated by ABGi Poland and connected the Armenian delegation with key actors across the Polish space sector, including Creotech Instruments, the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Institute of Aviation, ICEYE, PIAP Space, SENER, and the Polish Space Industry Association. The meetings provided an opportunity to exchange expertise and explore potential cooperation in satellite technologies, space robotics, Earth observation, research, and innovation.

From October 7 to 9, the delegation continued its study visit in Toulouse, one of Europe’s leading aerospace and space innovation hubs. The programme offered insights into how research institutions, universities, technology transfer organizations, startups, and major industrial players collaborate to develop new technologies and bring them to market.

The three-day programme in Toulouse included meetings with Aerospace Valley and its DISTRICT acceleration programme, Zephalto, IRT Saint Exupéry, ANITI, U-Space, the University Space Center of Montpellier (CSUM), Thales Alenia Space, Airbus Defence and Space Intelligence, Toulouse Tech Transfer (SATT), and ISAE-SUPAERO, among other organizations.

The study visit marked another step toward strengthening cooperation between Armenia and the European aerospace ecosystem and creating new opportunities for research, innovation, and institutional partnerships.
