CSIE Team Advances to UAV Competition Finals at ICUAS 2025

We’re excited to share that a student team from CSIE has advanced to the finals of the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Competition at the 2025 International Conference on Unmanned Aircraft Systems (ICUAS 2025)! The event will take place in Charlotte, NC, USA, from May 14–17, 2025.

Our talented team earned an impressive 2nd place in the first round of the competition.

The team is led by Gor Arzanyan, with members Artak Mnatsakanyan, Nane Hakhverdyan, and Anna Manucharyan working together to develop innovative solutions for unmanned aircraft systems.

The UAV 2025 competition challenges participants to create advanced technologies for autonomous drone navigation and obstacle avoidance. The competition is organized by the ICUAS Association․ The task's objective was to navigate a group of drones throughout the entire city while maintaining LoS (line-of-sight) and minimizing battery energy consumption. The UAVs had to locate Aruco markers and provide their IDs and coordinates.
