Seminar on Lung Nodule Detection and Deep Learning Approaches in Medical Imaging

On May 30, at 4:00 PM, CSIE hosted a seminar dedicated to the application of deep learning models for the detection of lung nodules — a critical step in the early diagnosis of lung cancer.
During the seminar, the following topics were discussed:
✔️The performance and outcomes of the ResNet model in the context of lung nodule detection
✔️The results and characteristics of the DenseNet model under the same evaluation framework
✔️The evaluation of the AlexNet model and its comparative behavior
Final observation: Deep learning holds significant potential in the medical field and can be especially valuable in improving diagnostic accuracy. Current approaches are actively being tested and studied to enhance their clinical applicability.
The presentation was delivered by CSIE research intern Tigran Melkonyan, showcasing the potential and challenges of AI in medical diagnostics.
